This signal box in the Cairngorms National Park is the ideal hideaway for train enthusiasts. It's right next to Newtonmore Station, so while noise is likely, transport links to Glasgow and Inverness are literally on your doorstep. The views across the River Spey are great, too – and thanks to the upside-down layout, you can admire them while lounging on the sofa. On chilly evenings, make use of the sauna or get cosy in front of the log burner. Keen to explore? The Wildcat Trail is just 150 metres away, though Netwonmore is also home to pubs, shops, and museums.

*This home has an upside-down layout. The bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor, while the living area and kitchen are on the first level to take advantage of the views.
*There's a small balcony here, but there isn't anywhere to sit.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host provides a cot, high chair, and stairgates upon request.
*Off-road parking is available for two cars. There's an EV charger 20 metres from the home. A secure bike store is also available if you plan to cycle.
*Considering the location next to a train station, some noise is to be expected.
