Area The Scottish Highlands' Strathconon Valley is accessible from the little village of Marybank in Rossshire. The settlement has a hotel, and Contin, a larger community nearby with a shop and church, is only two miles distant. Another village, Muir of Ord, is only four miles away; it is situated close to the Beauly Firth and has the Glen Ord Distillery and Visitor Center as well as a charming high street. Beauly, which is also nearby, has quality stores selling the finest Scottish tweeds, knitwear, and crafts, as well as chic boutiques and homely restaurants. The National Nature Reserve of Glen Affric is nearby and is a great place for walkers and bikers to explore. Inverness, the Highlands' main city, is also easily accessible. An ideal spot to explore this region of the Highlands.
Region From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
