The accommodation is set out on the ground floor and the chalet has two bedrooms; one double and one twin room. The fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting room are on open plan and the sitting room has doors to a veranda with furniture. Along with the veranda there is a shared gravel area and the property enjoys an elevated position overlooking Strathpeffer with superb views. Accomodation Details
All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x twin, 1 x double. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin & WC. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area & sitting area with doors to veranda.

Area
Strathpeffer is a lovely little spa town 20 miles from Inverness and only four and a half miles from Dingwall. The town grew up after the spring waters were discovered in the 1700s. In 1819 the waters were pronounced to be the healthiest in Britain and visitors to the town can still sample their delights in the old pump house. There are numerous walks around the area and the mountains of Glen Affric and the North West Highlands are close by. There is also good fishing to be enjoyed on lochs or rivers. The old Victorian Railway Station in Strathpeffer now serves as the Highland Museum of Childhood and no doubt will spark many memories. It is also home to local craft workers and shops selling their wares. A great base for exploring this lovely region.

Region
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Oil central heating. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, TV, DVD, stereo/CD. Fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Cot on request. Owners really friendly and helpful.. Beautiful location with great views Chalet very comfortable but rather tired and in need of an upgrade and some TLC Impossible to reach without a guide as Sykes directions are wrong and I have to thank the owner for driving down to the main road to meet us. I wouldn’t recommend staying here without a car (or a team of Sherpas). The Strathpeffer/ Dingwall Área is lovely and a great base to explore the Highlands, but be warned Strathpeffer itself small and deserted, there’s nothing there.

My partner and I (and our Weimaraner Blu) spent a lovely week in chalet 2, it was home from home everything you need is in the chalet.. Very clean, warm and comfortable chalet (the photos do not do it justice as it has since been re decorated). Great base to visit different areas of Scotland. The couple who own the chalet Sandra and Alan are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Thank you for the chocs and wine lovely gesture. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Firstly Strathpeffer is an excellent base for touring the north of Scotland.. Even though the tourist industry has been badly hit by Covid 19 it was possible to get morning coffee and snack meals in the village. The location of the chalet was quite remote but the peaceful and beautiful country side and the friendliness of the people is what we were looking for. The chalet was very well equipped , comfortable and clean. Mr and Mrs Ross were perfect hosts, friendly and helpful. We and our elderly dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay, furthermore the weather was amazing. One day the temperature reached 26 degrees on the beach at Gairloch!

Service was exceptional, although there are directions on the site we arrived in darkness and got lost, but we had a number and they came out immediately and guided us to the chalet in a very friendly and helpful manner.. Property although to some, It may be seen as dated, it was very clean and warm and had everything you needed, there were also lots of additional supplies we would not expect, and a personal touch that made us feel very welcomed. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful place.. It’s in a very quiet location but close enough to the town. It’s comfortable and well equipped. There are steps to the front door but our 2yr old managed them no problem. The only criticism about the lodge would be it could do with a bit of updating but everything works well. There are lots of walks near by and yes we saw red kites every day from the balcony. Would definitely go back. The owners Allan and Sandra are very friendly and helpful.

The chalet was very clean and had everything we needed.. It was very quiet and had nice views across the valley from the balcony. We saw red kites flying overhead and were told of red kite feeding everyday the other side of Strathpeffer. Sheep, chickens and highland cattle were all seen in the fields by the chalet. It was a bit tricky to find initially but the friendly host quickly came out and lead us there and explained all we needed to know about the property. We enjoyed the welcoming wine and chocolates very much. We were lucky enough to be around when Castle Leod was open to the public. It was very interesting and worth a visit. There are many walks in the area and scenic drives and a distillery at Muir of Ord just down the road. Rogie Falls to see the salmon leaping was another highlight. Loch Ness was easily accessible and we managed a day trip to the Isle of Skye with a lovely drive through the mountains.

Have you ever wanted to get off the grid? - then this is for you. a wonderful quiet chalet in the heart of Ross-shire, with outstanding features. Great comfortable and everything I needed. excellent quality fixtures and fittings. Magnificent welcome, and relaxed environment. The Chalet has a great view out to Strathpeffer and the fresh air was great. would go back again in a heartbeat, and could quite happily have stayed for a month. Really well heated, insulated, nice little features like a welcome pack of wine and chocolates, heated mattress and homely features, would stay here over a hotel any day of the week and twice on Sunday. 12 out of 10.

I found this little lodge really cosy, well stocked with everything you would need. The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming - there was even a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting when I arrived - a nice touch. The lodge is in a good location and is lovely and peaceful, my only gripe was Strathpeffer itself - it seemed to be shut all the time - shops close at lunchtime when a lot of people want to shop but that didn't really detract from my stay that much as I had the car and travelled about. I would certainly recommend the lodge.

I loved the secluded location of the property and also the height that it sat within the Strathpeffer Valley - the views were gorgeous! I loved that although quiet and secluded we were close for driving to Dingwall, Inverness and Cromarty - not to mention close to attractions such as The Black Isle Brewery and the Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park - making it a truly brilliant location all round! And finally, what made the holiday for us was the welcome that we received from the owners with a bottle of wine and chocolates - a lovely welcome to their gorgeous cottage. They were very helpful when we asked for anything and provided a highchair, cot and utensils for my baby daughter. Absolutely amazing!

Owners were very welcoming - leaving wine for the asdults and sweets for the children. The chalet was exceptionally clean and very comfortable with tremendous views looking down into the village of Strathpeffer. We were very lucky with the weather and made the most of the outside furniture and the balcony. Ideal for touring The Black Isle, we also went across to Ullapool and down to Landmark at Carrbridge.Plenty to see and do in fair weather and Inverness on the doorstep to explore if rainy.

The view from the veranda was outstanding and the air was crystal clear both day and at night under the stars.. We had three beautiful days of sunshine and blue skies with sparkly frost in the mornings and the wonderful autumnal colours all around. The owners were so friendly. We will certainly consider doing the same again but next time for a longer period. The owners left a bottle of wine and chocolates for our arrival which I thought was a really lovely touch as it was a special birthday for me. Altogether a memorable long weekend.

Our experience at Strathpeffer was wonderful. We wanted to do some exploring and follow the Pictish trail. We did all of that and much more. The early winter in mid November gave us sunshine and sparkling frost every day and was just beautiful. We met the friendly, welcoming Ross family as well as Caruso, the Highland Bull and his lovely family. I work as an artist and now have many sketches and photographs to work with from this beautiful area. It is central for exploring around northern Scotland from Ulapool to Dunrobin Castle and beyond. The Scottish Victorian village of Strathpeffer with it's interesting history is also worth coming back to see again in the season when it's visitor attractions will be open. We will certainly be returning to this peaceful retreat in the Highlands.
