  • "Pillows soft, lumpy and uncomfortable."

Single bedroom lampshade cracked and needs replaced, curtain needs more hooks on it. House too warm and we could not regulate the temperature. Front gate gets stuck on wall, a man passing by had to use brute force to dislodge it from the wall. Several cobwebs throughout the house and particularly in the conservatory. Dirty crockery in the cupboard. Plates very badly scratched from the dishwasher. The ornaments and wall hangings throughout the house were not attractive. I have booked several properties with Sykes over the past 11 years and this was generally the most disappointing.

Where you’ll be staying

DORNOCH

Inverness 43 miles

Translating in Gaelic to 'pebbly place', Dornoch is a delightful seaside resort in the North of Scotland. It is a beautiful town with so much to see and do and it is a place full of history and culture. Dornoch is home to the 13th century Dornoch Cathedral and directly opposite the cathedral is Dornoch Castle which is now a hotel making it the perfect place to stop off and stay awhile. Dornoch has a golf course that has been voted the fifth best outside of the US so is well worth a visit. No visit to Dornoch is complete without a visit to Dornoch beach situated on the beautiful Dornoch Firth and with its miles of golden sands is a great place for beach walks and activities. Aside from the beauty and history, Dornoch has a great range of shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants to discover and is the perfect place for picking up gifts to take home to loved ones.
