Rudh Dubh, meaning “Black Rock” in Gaelic, is situated on the coastal path between Portuairk and Sanna and clings to the rocks amongst some of the most stunning and dramatic scenery on the west coast of Scotland. In a truly spellbinding and unique location, Rudh Dubh provides a much sought after getaway, ideal for those who love the outdoors and wildlife or who just want to stay somewhere peaceful and truly wild. The tastefully restored, cosy and compact bothy has one main room with a wood-burning stove, a small, functional kitchen and a bathroom and provides all that is needed for an away-from-everything break. Rudh Dubh provides a rare sense of seclusion from the outside world and those who have visited, tend to come back year on year for this unique experience It’s also ideal for writers or artists who can’t fail to be inspired by the stunning seascapes and huge skies overhead. The bothy sits next to the coastal path and walkers pass by from time to time on their way to Sanna Bay.
On one level: Rudh Dubh has an open plan living room/kitchen with one double sofa bed, wood burning stove, electric cooker and fridge. There is also a shower room with toilet and washbasin.
Outside Area: Rough rocky shore line looking right over the water.
