Harking back to the Georgian era, when Edinburgh’s leafy New Town was, well, new, this apartment is filled with antiques and curios. It sits on a grand cul-de-sac, a five-minute walk from Princes Street in the heart of Edinburgh. The surrounding streets are home to fine-dining restaurants and the buzzing bar hubs of Rose Street and George Street are just a four-minute walk. Inside, this apartment is simply stunning. High ceilings corniced like icing and huge sash windows set the tone of grandeur and each vintage piece has been carefully selected to give an Art Deco feel. Quirks like the gramophone and typewriter in the living room and hand-painted fireguards in the bedrooms are what really make this place feel special. The vintage-style kitchen may have been designed around the original Shefco pantry, but it has all the mod-cons of the 21st century. Mix up a whisky cocktail at the mid-century bar table, stick a record on the gramophone and unwind with a view of the Calton Hill fireworks from that magnificent lounge.

About New Town

Edinburgh’s New Town isn’t new at all – it’s a glorious example of 18th-century Georgian town planning and architecture that has rightfully earned its UNESCO World Heritage Status. There’s a lot more than beautiful architecture on offer here though. Located in the centre of the city, it’s a short walk from Waverley Station, and well serviced by public transport. Princes Street, George Street, St Andrew’s Square, and the West End...
