It's a refreshing contrast to the winding, historic streets outside. Spill out in the comfortable living area with a freshly brewed coffee – or a nip of whisky - depending on the hour. There's Netflix and Amazon Prime for some downtime, or take a flick through the home's copy of Haarkon Adventures for some travel-inspo. Though we doubt you'll need it with so much waiting on your doorstep. Get off to a flying start at the National Museum just across the street, famed for its natural history wonders. Then walk in the footsteps of Scotland's ancient kings and queens at Edinburgh Castle (six minutes on foot). And when it's time to escape the crowds for a while, head to Edinburgh's volcano, Arthur's Seat (forty minutes on foot), for the very best views over the city – it's worth the hike.
