Strategically located in the artistic neighbourhood, Cedofeita, this studio apartment is close enough to the historical monuments, art galleries and vibrant bars yet far enough to ensure a comfortable night’s rest. Though compact and on the simpler side style-wise, this pad provides a sleek kitchenette for light bites and a lounge area to unwind after a day exploring The Church of Saint Ildefonso and Mercado do Bolhão. We think this home also serves well for those visiting on business with a laptop-friendly workspace at the dining table.

This is a studio apartment – space and storage are on the minimal side The aesthetics are not quite in line with Plum Guide's usual standards – we've made an exception on account of its great location in Porto

Parking in Porto can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport – though we think the best way to see the city is on foot
