Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

We've fallen hard for this apartment found in the city of Valbom, just outside of Porto. For a start, the covered terrace has a spectacular view of the Duoro River from the huge window, as well as plenty of seating for enjoying this pleasant scene, whatever the weather. Back inside, the design is wonderfully bright, thanks to the stark white walls, shiny wooden floors and the ample amount of natural light streaming in through from the glass doors. The minimalist kitchen and pair of pristine bathrooms are both gleamingly white, too. That being said, a few tasteful bursts of colour and flourishes – like the mock four-poster motif in one of the bedrooms – have been incorporated to stop the space from feeling too sterile. In the immediate area, it's possible to fill your afternoons with riverside strolls, a visit to a museum dedicated to the printing press and stop-offs in restaurants, but the centre of Porto is only a twenty-minute drive away too whenever you fancy a change of scenery.

About Bonfim

Bonfim is a neighbourhood where you can really blend in and live like a local. It’s not at all overrun by tourists. It was formerly an industrial area, and in parts the architecture still bears traces of this. There’s a real mix of local businesses as well as trendy cafes and restaurants — a good fit for families or groups after a low-key base not too far from the centre....
