This bright apartment is smack in the middle of Santos, a calm neighbourhood known for its residential, family-oriented vibe. Inside, the home has been masterfully refurbished to create a calming space that’s a pleasure to spend time in. We loved the combination of styles – Scandi-inspired pieces and antique furnishings in the living space and hints of the home’s original features in the kitchen. Large French doors open onto Juliet balconies, where you can watch over your charming street with an espresso in hand. After a typical Portuguese breakfast, strap on your walking shoes and navigate Lisbon’s cobbled alleyways and steep hills. In your locale, you’ll find unique design shops and glossy cafes sat beside old-school tascas and bakeries. Take the quick, fifteen-minute walk to Cais do Sodre for Pink Street and the Time Out Market. Or if you’d prefer to escape the city hubbub, catch the train from Santos station to the coast and while away the hours on Cascais' sandy beaches.

About Santos

Lisbon has many areas that can be described as cool, but Santos seems to be wearing that crown for the moment. Sun-soaked and open, this neighbourhood is home to the beautiful pastel-coloured buildings ubiquitous in Lisbon. If food is your passion, you’ll find plenty of great eateries in Santos. Modern restaurants have been carefully installed in rustic, worn buildings – the blend of old and new here is oh-so-charming. The...
