If you're up for being bang in the beating heart of Lisbon, this stylish little apartment has your name written all over it. In a period building (so it boasts that traditional narrow balcony you see so much in these old streets), it's a smartly modernized home with a quality feel to everything. The furnishings are mid-century modern inspired and the matte black kitchen is a sophisticated space with all you could need to whip up light meals at home. Black also adorns the bathrooms and there's a charming selection of art dotted about the place. Although the area next to the building can get a little busy, the home itself is in a quiet spot. Less than a ten-minute walk from the famous Mercado da Ribeira, you'll be staying in the heart of Lisbon's street food scene.

Local guide
About Saldanha
Saldanha is the uptown business district of Lisbon, filled with designer shops and upscale restaurants that contrast the modern buildings where many locals spend their working days. But it's not like Saldanha closes down after five – there's plenty of residents who appreciate the neighbourhood's sleek look. As a consequence, Saldanha has a great fresh food market, a few cosy cafes, parks and everything else you might need for a great stay. The traffic connections are fast and abundant, meaning most parts of Central Lisbon are only a short train ride away.
