Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Housed on a quiet street in Lisbon’s trendy Arroios district (recently named the coolest neighbourhood in the world by Time Out), this home is the perfect base for those looking to stay in a less touristy area of the city. Surrounded by open-air galleries, family-run restaurants and leafy parks, there’s a laid-back vibe to this area that is instantly felt in this comfortable and inviting home. With its wood floors, contemporary decor and a large glass door that leads out onto a Juliet balcony, you can sip your morning coffee or evening glass of wine while taking in views of the neighbourhood's historic buildings. We love the bright red tiles in the kitchen and the bedroom’s soothing neutral palette that invites a serene night’s sleep. You’ll relish taking relaxing soaks under the bathroom’s rainfall shower, especially after a day of walking up and down Lisbon’s iconic hills. Speaking of exploring, you’ve within easy reach of the city’s main sights on foot – the Alfama district, São Jorge Castle, the Carmo Convent and the Santa Justa Lift are just a twenty-minute walk away while the Praça do Comércio is a twenty-five-minute stroll from your door.

About Intendente
The Mayor of Lisbon moved his office into Intendente in 2012, giving it the infusion of funds needed to rebuild and elevate this often forgotten part of town. Only a decade ago, Intendente was in bad shape, but the revitalising initiatives have created an unexpected consequence – an incredible culinary scene, where everything goes. There are still some rough edges, but most of the previously abandoned buildings now home indie record stores, craft fairs, and art galleries. We suggest you start your trip in Largo Café, the artsy meeting point for locals and visitors.
