Less than a five-minute stroll away from Praça do Comércio, Lisbon Cathedral and the River Tagus, this apartment is perfectly placed for exploring. Stroll down Rua Augusta with a coffee and pastry, pop in and out of the independent shops nearby or grab a bite to eat at the array of restaurants on your doorstep. Whatever you fancy – be it historical monuments or lively bars – chances are, it's within walking distance. When you're not taking advantage of this central spot, unwind back at home with a glass of wine and music playing on the Bluetooth speaker. Set within a renovated Pombaline style building, the host's have expertly merged original features with modern design, creating a trendy and clean living space with mid-century furniture, a laid-back natural colour scheme and heaps of natural lights. Our favourite feature has to be the Juliet balconies on the windows – fling open the doors and admire the views of Lisbon's hills and charming streets below.
Home truths: *The best way to experience Lisbon is on foot, so leave the car behind – there are buses, subways, trams, trains and taxis when your feet get tired *Guests can self-check-in via a keypad *This apartment is in a central spot, so with that in mind, you may hear some noise *There is paid parking available off the premises for if you do decide to bring a car *There is a shared entrance to the building through the main foyer/corridor *There is enough space at the dining room table to set up a laptop if you need to work from home *Due to there being a few steps to access the property, this home may not be suited to those with limited mobility
