This whitewashed villa, with its vistas of unspoilt countryside and close proximity to the Algarve’s stunning coastline, is like a breath of fresh air. Inside, expect azulejo tiles, pops of yellow and blue, and large windows that allow for plenty of natural light. Mornings begin slow and steady in the bright dining space, sipping a rich espresso and tucking into Portuguese pastries. When the time’s right, spill out onto the terrace. Find a shady spot to get stuck into a gripping novel or don your swimsuit and plunge into the pool. Spend the afternoon grilling local produce on the barbecue before putting your feet up on a sun lounger. If you fancy a change of scenery, take the short drive down to the pristine sands of Praia de Loulé Velho. Should you start to feel peckish, we recommend heading over to Quarteira – the old town is crammed full of traditional eateries and laidback restaurants.
