The island of Texel is so green and pleasant that many birds make a stop-off there during their autumn migration. Many humans are also alert to its natural charm and you can be among this number with a visit to this bungalow in De Cocksdorp. Set within large grounds, there's a lovely view of the Krimbos woods from the front and a garden with its own terrace, too. Inside, the design feels rather contemporary, thanks to the muted grey colour scheme, mid-century furnishings and smart grey kitchen. The bedrooms can kindly be described as minimalist, but that doesn't make them any less inviting after a long day out and about exploring Texel. And there's certainly plenty to see. De Slufter nature reserve is only ten minutes' drive away and full of excellent hiking routes across the mudflats. Similarly, the beach at the northern-most tip of the island can be reached in forty-five minutes on foot. The main town of Den Burg is only twenty minutes away in the car, too.
