Situated a mere two minutes' walk from the Grand Canal in the Santa Croce neighbourhood of Venice, this apartment is a wonderful fusion of fantastic location and sleek design. Inside, the colour palette of cleansing whites and rich browns brings a touch of luxury, as do the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and a marble floor so shiny that you can almost see your reflection in it. The tall windows on the far side of the space bring in plentiful amounts of natural light and also look out over a view of the Natural History Museum's pretty walled garden. If that tempts you to pay a visit, you can be in the entrance hall in no more than a minute's walk. Many of the city's most famous sights are as easily reached too, including the Ca' Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art five minutes away on foot and the Santa Maria Della Salute taking just under ten.

Rialto is right in the middle of Venice’s other main districts – it doesn't really get more central than this. It’s a favourite with tourists, particularly as its less hectic than San Marco (this is all relative though – everywhere in Venice is packed).
