It’s all about the location at this petit apartment in Florence. The striking Duomo – the emblem of the city – is just a two-minute stroll away and the streets surrounding the apartment are home to trattoria serving Tuscan cuisine, bars for appertivo and art galleries and old churches galore. Slipping straight from the historic streets to your bolthole, you’ll find a simple spot to put your feet up. While it won’t win any awards for decor, the convenient touches (bedside alcoves, big kitchen cupboards) are appreciated. You can't beat the location, though.

*There's no parking with this home but you're within the historic centre of Florence where traffic is restricted anyway
*The entrance to this home is shared with the building's other residents
*Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace
*This home is in a central spot, so noise is to be expected – light sleepers may want to pack earplugs
*The kitchen only has a microwave oven rather than a proper oven
*At capacity, two guests will be on the sofa bed
