Set right in the heart of Florence’s historic centre, this cosy apartment puts the city’s Renaissance treasures within easy walking distance – no car needed. Compact and homely, it’s a great choice for a small family looking to explore the city with ease. The main bedroom sits up on a mezzanine level, while additional guests can sleep on sofa beds in the open-plan living space – so it’s worth noting, privacy is limited. The kitchenette is small but handy for simple meals, and there’s a welcoming, lived-in feel throughout. For location alone, it’s hard to beat as everything is just around the corner.

Home truths:
*At full occupancy, three guests will be sleeping on two sofa beds in the living area. Though there's enough bed space for five people here, we think it might feel a little cramped. We'd recommend a maximum guest count of four.
*The main bedroom is on the mezzanine level and semi-open to the space below, so privacy is limited.
*While we love the overall design of this home, it is lacking in natural light.
*This home is located within an apartment building, with a shared entrance and courtyard. Expect to bump into other guests during your stay.
*There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home.
*Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay.
*If you plan to arrive after 6pm, your hosts ask you to send an ID for each guest in advance, for a speedier check-in.
