Castagneto

A small, rustic and secluded house. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. There is also a very good restaurant nearby. The walk up the mountain is a bit adventurous and takes a while, but it is worth it. The host was extremely friendly and helpful.

A mouse was caught in the kitchen using a mousetrap; its excrement kept appearing throughout the apartment, including the bathroom/shower.

If you love solitude, this is the place for you! You should also be prepared to find ants and mouse droppings in the house every day, even if you keep food in sealed containers. Unfortunately, the condition of the house inside leaves a lot to be desired; plaster falls off the walls every day and there is mold in the bathroom. Lots of insects in the garden (bees/hornets) because of the many vineyards!

Castagneto may deserve the label Tinny House, but it is in a breathtaking setting. For sun and shade, every spot has a view of peace and nature; and make you forget every word you just read. From breakfast in the morning sun, to dinner after sunset, with Lucca painted in the distance in the background. Valentino's (walking, 5min there and 12min back) makes you forget every idea of Italian dining evenings; the amazement at the simplicity evaporates in the purity of the taste.

We fell in love with this beautiful area last year. Having breakfast in nature, surrounded by flowers, olive trees and wine - enjoying a wonderful view towards Lucca. We loved that again this year. Our landlord Fabricio not only booked a table for us at "Valentino" (a restaurant within walking distance - super delicious food and Italian warmth) but also arranged a lovely surprise for our birthday. This cottage was made for us. Quiet, seclusion, living in the middle of nature. We were happy to use the spacious terrace with the magnificent view of the mountains around Lucca. The location is just fantastic. The landlord is very friendly and open-minded. Italian hospitality as you wish it. We were allowed to use fig trees and grapes extensively. Nobody disturbed. Ideal starting point for near and far tours. Excellent

Cozy little cottage in a very quiet location. 3 different terraces invite you to linger outdoors. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. We took over the house very clean. Many thanks to the very nice landlord.

Very nice little cottage with pretty garden. An ideal place to relax and enjoy absolute tranquility. The landlords are very nice and helpful. Anyone who has often been to Italy knows the narrow, steep and often bumpy access roads to the properties. So no problem for us. We'd love to come back.
