Atop a hill in the Tuscan countryside, a forty-minute drive from Florence, this traditional apartment is a peaceful idyll for a group of four. There’s a sofa bed in the living space for two – which we think is better suited for children, and a small but functional kitchenette for knocking up a Caprese salad. If you’ve got a hankering for something more substantial, you’ll find a wood-fired oven and a barbecue in the shared grounds. The communal swimming pool is the tonic to scorching afternoons, and there are shady spots for enjoying a glass of something chilled.
