The moment you step out onto the patio and see the breathtaking, panoramic views of the Ionian Sea, you’ll not be able to comprehend how it can get any better, but just wait until you take the stairs up onto the sun terrace. From here, coincidentally, you can also hop in the jacuzzi, so our recommendation would be to do just that, with a glass of prosecco in hand, of course, so you watch the sun dip behind the horizon at dusk.

With a few wineries in the surrounding area, why not go on a tour – you’ll get to each of them in ten minutes or less – and bring back a few of your favourites to enjoy with the Mediterranean feast you’ll prepare on the barbecue? Of course you’ll escape to the beach as often as possible, but the lively fishing village of Marzamemi is utterly charming and reachable by car in eight minutes.
