Just 1 kilometre from Lake Maggiore, this villa overlooks rugged mountains and the Borromean Islands. The interiors may feel a little dated, but we suspect you’ll spend most of your time outdoors, lounging by the pool or dining alfresco in the gardens. Prefer to stay active? Work up a sweat in the gym, followed by a session in the hot tub and sauna. As for exploring the area, the best way is by boat – ferry routes connect the surrounding towns and villages.
