A fuss-free option for couples, this apartment is close to shops, restaurants, and public transportation. You can stay local and visit the contemporary Piazza Gae Aulenti – less than a five-minute walk away – or take the metro to the Duomo for some sightseeing. During downtime, rest up back home. We like the sleek, modern design. It's not the biggest apartment – for example, the kitchen is compact and lacks an oven – but it works well as a base for two.

*You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals since it’s quite compact.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host will provide a cot upon request.
*The building has a lift, but there may be some stairs to climb.
