Holiday Rental Description

If you’re after total peace and quiet, this mountain chalet above Lake Como is the one. Tucked high in the hills near Cernobbio, it has panoramic mountain and forest views. Inside, it’s full of rustic charm with wooden beams, a fireplace, and a cosy cabin feel. There’s an indoor heated pool to unwind, plus table tennis, a pool table, and a pizza oven. Outside, goats and chickens roam the land, and there’s plenty of space to dine and relax in the fresh mountain air. The steep drive and limited taxis mean it’s best for confident drivers, and you'll need to come prepared with supplies. But once you’re there, it feels like your own private slice of the Alps.

Home truths:
*Due to the rural location, we recommend hiring a car – there’s free parking for up to two cars. Taxis can be unreliable, but if you plan to use one, you'll need to book at least three weeks ahead.
*The narrow road up to the home can be challenging to drive, so take extra care.
*The garden is fully fenced, but small dogs may slip through gaps, so it's best to keep an eye on them.
*Towels are replaced every three days for weekly stays.
*There are no nearby grocery stores, so stock up beforehand. There's also no drinking water, but two bottles per room are provided to get you started. Fresh eggs and herbs are included when available.
*The wi-fi can be temperamental during storms. It might be worth bringing a personal hotspot device with you.
*This is a lived-in home. You should expect some of the host's personal belongings to be present during your stay.
*Goats and chickens live outside the home, and you might occasionally come across a dormouse.
