Between the old Jewish Quarter and the riverside alleys of Regola, Naive Melody is at the centre at what was the heart of medieval Rome. It was in spotless condition when we arrived, and if you were inclined to stay in, rather than explore the neighbourhood, there’s a 70” TV with Netflix to keep you busy. No one lives in the flat full time, but this isn’t necessarily a problem as Giulia, your host, is a delight – really helpful and forthcoming.

Home truths

The entrance to the building is a little hard to find, but you'll get precise instructions from Giulia.

Don't try to water the plants – they're artificial.

Guests 3 and 4 will be accommodated in the sofa bed in the living room.

There's a restaurant downstairs, so expect to hear some noise into the early hours.

The bedroom curtains here don't fully block out the sunlight. You might want to pack an eye mask.

About The Jewish Quarter

The Ghetto of Rome was witness to some of the worst excesses of anti-semitism of the last 500 years. It was established by Papal decree in 1555, when all Roman Jews were consigned to a three hectare patch of the city, best known for its propensity to flood, and limited to jobs as fishmongers, ragmen and pawnbrokers. More than 300 years of segregation were only ended in 1870, when many...

Host

This home is managed by Luca

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Luca and his team have been looking after apartments in Rome for years now, so you'll be in a safe set of hands. They focus most of their work in the old Jewish Quarter – they think it's one of the best examples of medieval Rome, and it's slightly detached from the main tourist thoroughfares.

This home is a Plum Guide Award winner.
