Just another couple of minutes will take you to Piazza Venezia, the central hub of Rome. It's the same distance to Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore, while Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli, home to Michelangelo's famous Moses, is a four-minute stroll. A wide range of gourmet shops, eateries and wineries are also on your doorstep, as are galleries and chic boutiques. Situated down a typical alley in Rione Monti, we were surprised by how quiet this home is despite its well-placed position. Inside, grab a book or magazine from the bookshelf and relax on the comfy sofa – your feet will thank you for it after all that sightseeing. Later, if you don't fancy eating out, whip up a comforting bowl of pasta in the modern kitchen to enjoy at your dining table. This place is the perfect Roman bolt hole.
