Take a stroll over to the famous Testaccio Market or the Tiber River (it's just across the road), or dive into one of the nearby trattorias and cafes to mingle with the locals. The Piramide Metro station is just a short stroll away, too, for when it’s time to explore Rome’s other must-sees. Back home, don’t be fooled by the historic building's exterior. Inside, this home has been converted to make a great practical base. Bedrooms are light-filled thanks to those period windows, and there’s plenty of space to spill out in the living room for quiet evenings in.

*If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace.
*The living room will feel compact if four guests are staying, as there are only two armchairs. But there's space to spill out around the dining table instead.
