It may be set in a traditional period building but this apartment in central Sorrento is modern and fun. With tall ceilings, tiny balconies and herringbone floors, it's a spacious flat with plenty of room for a family or a few friends sharing. Painted all white, pops of colour come from soft furnishings and funky bathroom tiles, while the whole place is kept light and bright by the tall French doors. A sociable flow to the space makes the open-plan living room the heart of the home, with a well-equipped kitchen and an extending dining table for up to six. And we love the bedrooms here, each with its own style. Right in the heart of the town, it's easy to get around on foot, with excellent restaurants, bars and ice cream shops on your doorstep – plus it's just a few minutes walk to the beach.
