Overlooking the Mediterranean from where it's perched on the edge of Positano, this historic building is a unique way to experience the Amalfi Coast. Split into three sections, every nook, including the tower, has been utilised to offer spacious living areas and private bedrooms alongside a study and private gym. The interior is what you'd expect from an older home, and though it might not be to everyone's taste, we think it's outshined by the many arched walkways and terraces with their inspiring views. From here, steps lead down to the beach – little ones will need a helping hand getting down – and the heart of Positano lies about one kilometre away.
Home truths: *The villa isn't reachable by car, only by water taxi.
*As there are plenty of stairs to climb here, it might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility. Little ones will also need constant supervision on the stairs and on walkways.
*The Wi-Fi here doesn't reach all rooms, so you may find yourself without signal in some areas of the home.
*Some of the double beds may be made up of two single mattresses pushed together and can be arranged as such with prior notice.
*The air-conditioning doesn't reach all of the rooms.
*The housekeeper lives on site, but will not interfere with the privacy of the guests.
*The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
