Old meets new in this beautiful home nestled in the countryside of San Michele Salentino. Sitting alongside the traditional trullo, which houses the main bedroom, is a beautiful villa with a gorgeous, vaulted, curved stone ceiling wrapping itself over the sleek, modern kitchen and living space. The styles blend together effortlessly, creating an elegant but homely space – the ideal retreat for a tranquil stay. Outdoors is just as serene. The private pool is sure to be a hit with all ages and provides the perfect slice of respite from the heat of the Italian sun. Our favourite spot, however, is the outdoor kitchen area. With built-in sofas and a dining area to boot, it’s just the spot to rustle up a delicious snack and indulge in an alfresco meal under the sun or the stars – just don’t forget to uncork a bottle of fine wine to go with it. After your meal, settle down on the sofa with your holiday read to relax further as you finish your drink. It’s hard to imagine wanting to be anywhere else, but with beautiful old towns such as Ceglie Messapica, Ostuni and San Vito dei Normanni on your doorstep, we’d really urge you to get out and explore this picture-perfect part of Puglia.

About Ostuni
You’ll probably spot Ostuni long before you reach the so-called White City of Puglia. It rises up on three hills, above the rust-red earth punctuated by olive trees. Shambling, narrow streets lead up the hillside to the crowning 12th-century Ostuni Cathedral. It’s a veritable labyrinth of ancient alleyways, where you can sample traditional Puglian fare like handmade orecchiette and oozing dollops of burrata in terrace restaurants, or taste a Salice...
