This 19th-century villa in the Ostuni countryside delivers on style, space and practicality. Inside, six elegant en-suite bedrooms are spread across the main house, while a separate garden annexe sleeping two offers a little more privacy. But for us, it’s outside that really clinched the deal here. Private gardens edged with olive and citrus groves, a lengthy infinity pool, and countless sun-soaked terraces invite slow, sociable days. There’s even a rooftop deck, perfectly placed for golden-hour drinks. You’ll need a car to explore, as there’s little within walking distance. But with Ostuni just a short drive away, it’s a fair compromise to make.

Home truths:
*The home is set over three floors with internal stairs, which may be unsuitable for guests with restricted mobility. However, there are two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms on the ground floor.
*The main house has six en-suite bedrooms. There is also a self-contained garden annexe sleeping another two guests.
*One of the bedrooms is located on the lower ground floor, so the views aren’t the best.
