Looking to stay in an authentic trulli villa to sample the best of Apulian living? This two-bedroom looker, fringing the baroque town of Martina Franca (4.5 kilometres) and just a thirty-minute drive from sandy beaches, should do nicely. Inside, the living and kitchen area beneath the conical roof is charming, but it’s on the snug side. But with a kitchenette, barbecue and an all-weather dining terrace waiting outside, we suspect you’ll spend most of your time alfresco. Alongside the modern-day comforts such as air conditioning and speedy wifi, you'll find some unexpected luxuries, here too – starting with an indoor hydromassage Jacuzzi bath for two in the main bedroom.

*The garden is fully enclosed – ideal for keeping little ones and pets safe. However, it’s worth noting the swimming pool isn’t fenced off – so you’ll need to keep an eye on little ones.
*Space in the second bedroom might feel tight for some, but there’s everything you need for a peaceful night’s sleep.
