Belan Lodge and its historic courtyard give a unique oppurtunity to relax , unwind and steep yourself in history on a working farm.
Self-catering sleeps 20 and B & B sleeps 6. There are numerous farm, fishing and other activities available for guests (see description)
The farm was part of the renowned Belan House estate, the home of the famed corn miller Ebenezer Shackleton and uncle of the antartic explorer Ernest Shackleton.
Self-catering Accommodation:
There are four Courtyard Lodges available to rent, with both one and two bedroom lodges available in different sizes and layout. Prices range from €200 to €350 per week all year round and they are per lodge. There are also 3 night weekend rates from €150.
Bed and breakfast accommodation consists of 3 double rooms at
€25pp per night which includes continental breakfast. Full breakfast is available for an extra charge of €5.

2.5 mile and 5 mile farm fun runs held daily. Free of charge.

Tractor and Trailer trips for children throughout the farm. A boat trip on the pond is also included. Price €2 per child.
Trout and Salmon fishing on the River Greese that runs through the farm.

Directions:
Belan Lodge is located at Moone, Athy, Co. Kildare. It is easily accessible by a modern and efficient road network. It is less than a one hour drive from Dublin Airport. It is approximately 11km from Athy and 16km from Carlow. It is located approximately halfway between the Crookstown exit and the Prumplestown exit on the M9.
Things to do in the Moone area:
Kildare town (20 mins drive). Is home to a wonderful complex of the Japanese Gardens, St. Fiachra's Gardens and the National Stud.
The Japanese Gardens, which symbolise life, traces the journey of the soul from Oblivion through twenty stages to Eternity. The Gardens offer the visitor both visually appealing views and also provokes thoughts about the true meaning of life.
St. Fiachra's Garden which presents visitors with a similar natural environment to that which inspired the spirituality of the monastic movement in Ireland during the 6th and 7th centuries.
The National Stud combines an active role in the development and promotion of Irish bloodstock with its role as one of the country's major tourist attractions. There is also a Horse Museum. The Museum is a state of the art modern exhibition where the Sport of Kings comes to life.
