My family booked this house through Hogan’s Irish Cottages. We holiday in Ireland every year to self catering accommodation. Never have we come across such a sub standard property. It was filthy with mould, dirt, cobwebs & spiders everywhere we turned. An awful damp mouldy smell throughout and patched of black damp mould coming through the ceiling in the bedroom. The stairs are lethal; definitely not suitable for young children or older people. In fact anybody could get a really bad fall or bang to the head. Only one workable shower for 10 people. No basic cleaning supplies or basic self catering provisions. Our parents (in their 70s) had to go home after just one night:@; they couldn’t stay in the place. The worst is that despite us bringing this to the attention of the Hogan’s Irish Cottages they made absolutely no attempt to resolve or even apologise. It just showed utter contempt for paying guests.

We received an email confirmation for arrival time between six and seven o’clock.. Arrived about 5:30 and waited til seven. No one showed so started calling only numbers we had, Booking.com and Sykes. Seems you need a local number to call when you get to the cottage. The caretaker was not happy after waiting for three hours for our call. Sykes needs to pay attention to the little details!

We loved the house! It was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The views were fantastic and we had a lovely relaxing week. The stove wasn't working but the house was very warm and cosy anyway with the central heating.

A beautiful house with a sea view that fits 10 people without any problem .. .. I can't wait to go back in there spring or summer.

Amazing location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and great views of the local surfers.. Split level house with bedrooms and ground and upper floor. Living, dining, kitchen area on middle floor with plenty of Windows to take in the view. 3 toilets and 2 showers worked well for 10 people. Wood burner was out of order which was a bit disappointing as it was winter but there is gas heating so plenty of constant heat!! Only 1 slight complaint - downstairs bed linen in 1 room wasn't very clean and looked like it was really old and grubby and we changed it using another in the cupboard which wasn't very fresh. Overall we really enjoyed this house and would consider staying again! Thank you to Marion for her prompt arrival with the keys.

The house was great and very reasonably priced.. My daughter loved to sit in the playroom, which looked out over the sea, and watch the surfers. Close to Bundoran town which although off season had very welcoming g pubs and restaurants

Location of house is lovely and the view that comes with it.. We have been booking holiday homes for years and this house was the most dirty one we have ever stayed in. We had two 9 month old babies with us therefore we had to clean as soon as we went in. We assumed late check in was due to the house getting ready for us but there was cobwebs and spiders absolutely everywhere and such a horrible smell around the whole house. It could be a really good house it just needs some TLC. Kitchen utensils were filthy I had to clean everything including fan extractor which hadn't been cleaned in a long time and supplied with only one tea towel and a few bin bags. Not really appropriate for 8 adults. Overall not a bad stay however wouldn't return. Which is sad as this could have been a regular place for us to bring our kids growing up.

2 Fishery Cottages has stunning views and is a stunning property however we there are a number of issues: 1/ To change tv channel you have to run to downstairs bedroom 2/ no blind in downstairs bedroom (so had to block light and provide privacy with cases) 3/ kitchen tap leaks constantly 4/ lights in lounge flicker like a disco 4/ the aerial socket is hanging off the wall (not great with young children) 5/ no instruction manual for property (only found there was WiFi on last day) 6/ beds uncomfortable and short 7/only one key for front door (there was 9 of us staying at property) 8/ no pegs for washing line.. 9/ advised on arrival log burner wasn’t working 10/ couldn’t figure out how to get hot water without having to flick a switch and wait an hour or two every time hot water needed. Some of these issues may sound petty but when you pay over a £1000 for a week I’d expect a better level of accommodation and because of this would probably not use Sykes again!

So we booked this as my granny is from bundoran and her sister still lives there and we wanted to spend a week there.. 2 fisheries looked lovely and enough space for us all.. we got there and the views were amazing a lady let us in and told us the TVs weren't working but would be fixed on Monday (it was Saturday) not a problem we won't be watching it anyway.. during the week we found a few problems.. the dishwasher didn't work the high chair was broken the outdoor furniture was rusty and the decking was broken but nothing to big to ruin the holiday but I thought I would ring Sykes and let them know whilst it was fresh in my mind! I spoke to Emma who was lovely and opened a case about it. Well Emma rang me back when we were home and what She told me after speaking to the owner was shocking!! 1. I wasn't getting compensation (I didn't ask for it) 2. The decking is brand new (I have footage to show it isn't) 3. We shouldn't have been using the outdoor furniture as it wasn't on the list (it was hot we wanted a BBQ the table and chairs were there) 4. We didn't request a high chair (we did) 5. Got told we had more people and dogs than we said (we didn't we had 8 adults 2 kids and 2 dogs) 5a. A bit worrying that I think someone was spying on us 5b. The only other person who visited was my 70 year old auntie who is in a wheelchair and couldn't get up the stairs 6. We all got a sick bug I'm not saying it was anything to do with the house but I wouldn't rule it out I'm very shocked by the owners response as I was only trying to offer some advice but she hit back with all these points. I have asked to speak to the owner but she is now ignoring Sykes now they have my money!! I'm sorry to say avoid this place which is a shame because the views are amazing!!

House needs a bit of TLC which has already been discussed with Sykes.. A few changes here and there and house would be perfect! The views are amazing.
