"A review of this property can be summarised into three words; " Heaven on Earth". With breathtaking views around each curve in Ireland you would still be hard pressed to find a more perfect location. You will find yourself torn between staying at the cabin or going out to visit the many beautiful sight just around the corner. Barley Cove, Mizen Head, Three Castle Head, Drombeg Stone Circle, Bantry House and a shopping trip to Kenmare are just a few of the "must see" sights. Sean and Nora are the most wonderful couple and provided for every possible comfort you can imagine. On our first day we found a seal sleeping on the rocks between the house and the pier as well as a resident sea otter that showed itself a couple of times. I highly recommend the Log Cabin in Goleen but I warn you; you will not want to leave. Thank you Sean and Nora for a memorable vacation.

"Hard to leave this place!" We only had one week to enjoy this spacious and well equipped house and the views. It is hardly possible to get closer to the sea. The area is amongst our favourites in Ireland with loads to do and see (Mizen Head, Bantry, Glengariff, Ring of Beara and Sheep's head...) - one week is not enough. We hope to come back soon. Nora and Sean are great hosts. Finally on our last day we managed to spot an otter and a seal from the deck, so keep your eyes open!

Absolutely Amazing 5 of 5 This place was just absolutely amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. I walked in for the first time, and wanted to buy it! Sean and Nora met us at the cottage for our arrival. They were very friendly, and telling us about all the best local places to go in the area, and going over the details about the cottage. The cottage has all the comforts of home, the views are absolutely spectacular. You can see the Mizen Head light house in the distance. The cottage is just about a mile from the village of Goleen. We walked a couple of times to Goleen from the cottage, to get delicious scones and cappuccinos from this little bakery shop. The cottage is only a short drive maybe @15 minutes to Crookhaven with a couple of good restaurants and pubs, and Mizen Head, and also Three Castle Head.. Three Castle Head being our favorite, and the little cafe at Three Castle Head overlooking the ocean had fantastic food and picnic tables set up outside. They have a small grill on the back deck that we took advantage of.. picking up meats at the local butcher in Goleen. We also had a picnic on the lawn one day.. We also drove into Schull one day for the farmer's market, which was great. Can't say enough about how beautiful the setting is.. They also have a fireplace that we used a few nights as well.. Everything you could ever want. We loved meeting the local people, all so friendly.. and this area really is a bit off the beaten path for most non-Irish tourists.. Southwest Cork has to be the most beautiful part of Ireland, and still has retained it's quaintness and charm. We definitely hope to go back some day soon!

The cottage and surrounding views were exceptional. Nora and Sean were very helpful in explaining where everything was and how to operate the appliances. The cottage was fully equipped and the bottle of wine was unexpected but greatly appreciated. Beds were very comfortable and the place was very cozy. Unfortunately, the weather was poor. We had one full day of sunshine. The remainder of our week was cool and rainy. No matter, on those days we would sightsee and come home and build a fire. The surrounding villages of Goleen, Schull and Crookhaven had everything we needed. As recommended by our hosts, the restaurant, "Nottages" in Crookhaven was fabulous and affordable. We loved our stay at the cottage, during which time we met many lovely people in the villages.
