Hidden between olive groves, and surrounded by gorgeous gardens, this majestic castle stands atop the Mikri Mantineia hill. The exterior is striking to say the least, with rustic stonework, turrets and terraces overlooking the Messinian Bay, whilst the inside boasts traditional furniture, wooden beamed ceilings and winding stone staircases. Start your mornings on the balcony, the perfect place to soak up the spectacular scenery with a cup of coffee. If you're looking for a way to energise yourself for the day ahead, nothing beats a swim in the cool waters of the private pool. If you do manage to tear yourself away from this incredible home, there's plenty to explore in Kalamata. A pretty pebble beach is a short walk away, offering crystal clear waters and an array of cafes and taverns serving fresh fish. If you're looking to soak up some of the local history and culture, there are plenty of landmarks within driving distance, from ancient temples built in the 1700s to museums offering a journey into the city's fascinating past. However you choose to spend your days, coming home to a castle is an experience in itself. The garden is the best place to wind down in the evenings. Pick some fresh fruits and vegetables from the trees, then cook an alfresco feast on the barbecue. Just as the sun begins to set choose a bottle of wine and watch the sky change colour over the ocean.
