This villa may, technically, be on the mainland of Greece, but the pristine beaches and spitting distance to the buzzing island of Spetses mean the vibe is all Greek Island. At the tip of the Peloponnese peninsula, it’s only 350 metres to the nearest, spotless sandy beach. You can stroll into the coastal hamlet of Costa to sample the tavernas and hop on the ferry to Spetses, just two nautical miles away.
At the villa, the rooftop terrace is a real sun trap and rises up above the verdant green hills of the upmarket Costa neighbourhood. Here’s where you can dine alfresco at the pretty blue and white dining set like a scene from a beach-side taverna. Cool off in the swimming pool on ground level, and choose to dine beneath the shade of the veranda down here instead – this terrace has a built-in stone barbecue after all.
Inside, neutral tones and raw wood accents make for a soothing space. The living area is open-plan and social with a big L-shaped sofa and dining for the whole group. Choose a bedroom that leads straight out to the terrace and bag the swinging seat before anyone else, but each bedroom has its own access to balconies and terraces so nobody really misses out.
