Holiday Rental Description

We're paraphrasing slightly, but we believe they say that when life gives you a stone villa in the south of Crete complete with a lemon tree growing in the back garden, make lemonade. Well, that's just one of the ways to pass your time here. The spa pool in the middle of the outdoor space is pretty inviting, as is the lounge area and hammock found underneath the grape-vine-covered pergola.

The inside of the home has plenty of distractions, too. There's another Jacuzzi tub in one of the bathrooms should the weather be a little too cold to relax outside — in which case, the fireplace will be a welcome presence too. Although the address has been renovated in recent years, there are still traces of history to be found, from a handmade wooden bed dating back to the fifties, plus curtains and bed covers hand-loomed by the host's great aunt.

You can be standing on the beach — Paralia Koutsourus, to be exact — in two minutes' walk and there are further options along this stretch of coastline. The Dasaki Schlucht hiking area can be reached in six minutes' drive, but there are plenty of tavernas and restaurants in the local area if that sounds a little too active for your tastes.
