This might not be the most luxurious home on Crete or have the most beautiful views, but at the end of the day, a Greek villa is still a Greek villa – even fairly ordinary ones can still make for an unforgettable getaway. The swimming pool and ample terrace space mean you can spend countless hours in the Mediterranean sunshine, while you're all of 8km from the beach town of Plakias. There's even a fireplace and underfloor heating should you be jetting over during the winter months.

*The swimming pool is only available for use between April and October
*There are three bedrooms in the main house, although none are on the ground level – however, there's also a single-storey guest house with two single beds, a kitchenette and an ensuite bathroom
*Two of the bedrooms in the main house can be arranged as twin singles or double beds as preferred
