Sitting high above the village of Plaka on Crete’s northwest coast, this modern villa is ready to welcome you into a stay full of rest, relaxation and incredible Aegean Sea views.

Laid out over three floors, there’s plenty of space to socialise with the basement offering board games, books and even a piano and guitar for evening jam sessions, and quiet separate living areas in which to retreat with a good book – we’re particularly fond of the wood-burning fireplace in one of these.

With numerous doors leading out onto the patio area, the home’s outdoor oasis blends seamlessly with its cool interiors. Speaking of the garden area, while away hours in the scenic pool with its panoramic vistas over Spinalonga island and the sea, enjoy a soak under the outdoor shower or sit down to an alfresco feast framed by the rocky cliffsides and olives trees.

The two upstairs bedrooms, meanwhile, have incredible sea views too and access to a private balcony – the ideal spot to watch the sunrise over breakfast or clink glasses at sundown.

When you’re not spending time in your hilltop retreat, make your way to pebbly Plaka Beach (a five-minute drive) or catch the ferry to Spinalonga (six minutes away by car).
