With Monastiraki a three-minute walk away and the Acropolis looming against the skyline, there’s no denying that this apartment is in the very centre of Athens. If you’re not hitting the pavement bars of the nearby Plaka neighbourhood, you can take your evening tipple on one of two balconies. Our choice will always be the one overlooking the city’s most famous landmark. There are some quirky touches to the open-plan living area – an old-school jukebox and a library of books. Plus, there’s a dedicated office room should you wish to work remotely. But it’s the Acropolis view from the big windows that really caught our eye.
Home truths: *While the apartment has been renovated, it's within a historic building so the communal areas might show some wear.
*There is a lift in the building, but you'll need to climb five steps to reach the main entrance. It may not suit those with very limited mobility.
*At capacity, one guest will be on the sofa bed in the living room.
*For those working remotely, there is a dedicated office room off the main bedroom.
*Security cameras are in operation outside this home.
*There is no parking with this apartment, but you're in the centre of Athens with Monastiraki metro station a short walk away. Having a car is not necessary.
