The apartment is wonderfully situated in the heart of things, and a metro station is nearby for those excursions that take you further afield. The Acropolis is a thirteen-minute walk, and Parthenon fourteen minutes. Spend a morning exploring these historic sights, marvelling at their majesty and how they sit side by side with modern Athens. Monastiraki Square – just three minutes from the apartment – is a perfect example of how Athens ties together history and modernity. Take a look at the pillars of Hadrian’s library then wander over to pick up souvlaki for lunch. Shops, cafes and street performers add a lively buzz to the square and make it an excellent place to refuel.

If shopping always features in your city breaks, you’re in luck – the apartment is on Ermou Street, which is a great place to refresh your wardrobe. Once back at the apartment, take a relaxing shower and pour a glass of wine. Make the most of the stylish space before you head out for dinner and drinks.
