Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

20 years ago, the Berlin wall would’ve gone straight through The Helmina. Built on the site of the former Berlin Wall, the partial wall that separates the dining room and living room roughly mirrors the line of where the former electrified fence stood. Even though The Helmina is on the smaller and more functional side, it’s safe to say that it’s rich in history, and it’s in a buzzing neighbourhood too.

Home truths

This home is located on the ground floor with windows facing the sidewalk

There are no low-voltage plugs in the bathroom

When we visited, we saw a few scuff marks on the walls

Guest 3 and 4 would be on a sofa bed in the living space - only separated from the bedroom by a partial wall

Functional solutions has been prioritised over design

It’s a studio flat, so don’t expect a lot of privacy

While there are beds for 4 guests, it’s a bit of a squeeze for that many people
