Float Away is about as unique as they come, and while it might look like a boat, it’s actually a floating home with no motor. Moored in a beautiful part of Berlin's Citymarina, it’s perfect for guests looking to experience an alternative side of the city – or to escape the hustle and bustle of places like Mitte and Kreuzberg. In asheltered spot overlooking the calm waters of the Spree, we think this one is pretty special.

Needless to say, it’s on the smaller side, but we only think that adds to its charm. Perfect for a couple, it's got everything you could need onboard for a quiet weekend away. If you're lucky with the weather you can even eat outside on the small deck. Or take the short walk to the harbourside restaurant.

*Location-wise, it’s not the city centre but it's just a five-minute walk to the tram to take you into Friedrichshain
*There's laptop-friendly workspace but the wi-fi can sometimes be unreliable
*The kitchen is on the smaller side – it’s not the kind of place you’d cook up a storm
*With big windows and all-round visibility, it's not exactly private
*The underfloor heating keeps it cosy year-round
*A third guest would be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room
*This home isn't considered suitable for small children
*There's paid public parking close to the marina
*The harbourside restaurant isn't open all week
