Moulin De Mois

A wonderful holiday home to relax and enjoy the nature and surroundings. In the utility room, there was a reservoir (a simple plastic water barrel of about 500 liters) filled with heating oil, and because of that, there was a strong smell of heating oil. We wondered if this could be dangerous, but the manager said no. We had our doubts.

We spent a week here, four adults and two children. The house is secluded, at the end of a small, steep drive, and sits on the river Clain. The house was immaculate, the kitchen had everything we needed, and more, and the pool and gardens were beautiful. M., our host, was lovely and if we had any questions, she answered them quickly and when the pool pump and cover stopped working, she came down straight away and had it sorted within an hour. We'd all definitely return.

We were here with our family in July 2024. The house is in a quiet area and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. And the pool. Small villages are a short drive away. Larger villages and sights are a bit longer drive. The house itself is rustic, exactly as shown in the photos.

Great authentic French stone built house with fantastic features and a pool. Everything is there and on hand, supermarket just 20kms away in Civray and if you are on motorbikes like we were, it's a great ride. In the river that runs alongside the gite we seen crayfish, trout and even seen an Otter one evening. Great base to explore the the surrounding towns like Cognac and Confolens.

Both the house and its exteriors are magnificent and very well equipped, from the kitchen to the outdoor furniture and the living room. The warm welcome does not denote, see you soon I hope!

A very special and beautiful house! Everything is there. House is beautifully situated, lovely heated pool. Highly recommended for complete rest. Superb, fully equipped kitchen. Only downside was it was hard to find. Internet was there but not easy to install. A description would help. The mattress was a bit hard but that's what you like. .
