Perched upon the top floor of an apartment building in the twentieth arrondissement, this Parisian home makes the most of its elevated position with not just one, but two terraces. These outside spaces have been thoughtfully arranged, with flourishing potted plants, plenty of seating and even a hammock to laze about in on warm summer evenings. With an uninterrupted view of the city's rooftops — you can even spot the Eiffel Tower from one of the decks — the sun also pours in through the ample amount of glass doors to make the interior a gloriously bright spot to relax. The design choices are simple but effective, with parquet flooring and white walls emphasising the bountiful amount of natural light. The presence of an upright piano is sure to appeal to those with musical gifts, too. Being situated a little out of the city centre, there's a laid-back feel to the neighbourhood, with Parc de Belleville less than a five-minute walk away and plenty of restaurants to pop in for a bite to eat around Pl. Henri Krasucki at the end of the street.
Home truths: *There's an extra children's bed to accommodate a seventh guest if necessary
*The apartment building has an elevator and the home itself is step-free
*There's no private parking space, although the nearest metro station — Jourdain — is four minutes' walk away
*This is a lived-in home – you should expect some of the host's personal belongings to be present during your stay
