Sitting within the winding network of historic streets in the Intra-Muros neighbourhood of Saint-Malo, you couldn't ask for a better spot in the Brittany seaside town. Everything from Eventail beach to the cathedral lies within walkable distance, while there's even a rather peaceful view of the English Channel – or La Manche, depending on your disposition – out through the window. The apartment itself is humbly sized, sure, but we're impressed by the simple and contemporary design found behind the front door. White walls and smart wooden floors are a timeless combo, while the furnishings, lighting and artwork selection are subtle and unshowy – and all the more chic for it. It's the sort of space that's sure to give you a bit of inspo for when you're next doing up your home address. As mentioned, you don't have to venture far to find some of Saint-Malo's big sights, but once you've exhausted the small town – which might take longer than you think – you can catch a ferry over to Dinard on the other side of La Rance for more beaches and historic architecture.
