La Maison du Chateau Etang sur Arroux, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

Arrived in the rain and with outside temperatures of 12 degrees. After a long wait, someone came. Even though they charge extra for heating, the radiators remained cold and the temperature inside was around 16 degrees. A lot of things were dirty, the pool was so dirty that you wouldn't have gone in even if the weather had been nice, and the tennis court pictured wasn't there. We were very surprised that this accommodation was mostly rated well. But the reviews are rather old.

Our stay at this wonderful location, with wonderful hosts, was more than we had hoped for. La Maison du Chateau, the peace and countryside are everything you need to relax and get away from the madding crowd. It is also a great location to do touring from and as a visitor to Burgundy on numerous occasions, I must say this is now my favorite place. Merci beaucoup!

4 delectable days in a magnificent green setting, the arrival at the castle is breathtaking as the view and the building are splendid. Everything is very well maintained and the hosts are extremely kind, the children were also able to have fun in the swimming pool located just above the house, well secured by barriers and enjoy a superb carriage ride organized by our caring host. We will definitely be back.

In the week of September 11 we spent a week in this gite. A beautiful location, friendly owners, complete furnishings and clean! The dog, A., who runs on the property is the sweetest, especially for children. The swimming pool is lovely and the tennis court is great for a workout. The course is in need of maintenance but hasn't stopped us from hitting some balls. We definitely recommend these gites and would love to come back ourselves!

A very nice old accommodation with charm, large beautiful pool (the highlight for the children), great surroundings. There are several gourmet restaurants and beautiful excursion destinations nearby. Very quiet. Helpful nice landlord. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are not very well maintained, parts need to be cleaned or urgently replaced - the tennis court is unfortunately hardly usable due to its poor condition.

With a view of a medieval castle in a well-kept apartment, beautiful countryside and friendly landlords, we spent a wonderful week in Burgundy. With very summery weather the large swimming pool was a delight. We didn't need the tennis court that was also available.
