The village of Eckington is situated on the north west side of Bredon Hill, an outcrop of the famous Cotswold hills, and is surrounded by the River Avon. You can embrace the outdoors with waymarked paths for both walking and cycling, follow the riverside walks from Strensham Lock, or enjoy a day s fishing on the River Avon, within half a mile. This area has a year round events calendar: follow the Blossom Trail in springtime, the Asparagus Festival in the summer, and attend the Plum Festival in autumn. A paradise for walkers of all abilities and stamina (great for the kids), there is easy access to Bredon Hill, 4 miles away and made famous by AE Houseman s A Shropshire Lad , and the Wychavon Way, 3 miles.
