Six acres of meticulously designed gardens surround the 18th-century farmstead, including a formal walled garden with a pool, an orchard, and woodland extending to the banks of the River Avon – where you also have fishing rights. The interiors are just as attractive, featuring a triple-aspect living space, a country kitchen (complete with a well-stocked pantry), and a home cinema room. Meanwhile, the external studio, with floor-to-ceiling woodland views, is an ideal spot for quiet work. There's no shortage of picturesque walks around Amesbury – including to lesser-known prehistoric sites like Woodhenge – and Salisbury is twenty minutes away.
